According to Zippia, women within the female-dominated sector of real estate (60%) earned only 73% of what men earned in 2021. “The best way to be successful is to pursue what makes you happy, not what makes you money, because what makes you happy is what’s ultimately going to get you excited and out of bed every morning. As a woman, it can already be hard enough to be taken seriously in any industry, so you really have to keep your eye on the prize, and keep on pushing through. Success comes from being a good leader and being able to stay focused, and motivate your team. You can’t pour from an empty cup either so always make sure to take care of yourself along the way,” says Rachel Luna famously-dubbed The Texas Title Queen.
When starting her journey in the real estate industry 20 years ago, Rachel faced many challenges from men in her field who did not want her to earn more than them. She recalls how some of her managers would tell her she would never out-earn them, but should be content with the success she already had at the time. Rachel Luna being the strong-willed Latina who was used to fighting for what she believed in had no intention of staying put. As a young woman who grew up with the struggles of poverty, there was nowhere but going up for her. Her resilience and determination has now created one of the most successful title companies in the state of Texas, and continues to expand.
